This intended to assess the threats and risks to Information Technology (IT) assets held within your organizations, and in making recommendations related to IT security. The objective of a Security Assessment & Implementation (SAI) is to involve the users/employees and gain their support, to enable management to make informed decisions about security and to recommend appropriate and cost-effective safeguards.

The Process To Minimize Risk

To conduct a SAI, the following steps will be followed.

Preparation:	determining what to protect
Threat Assessment:	determining what to protect against, consequences of a threat
Risk Assessment:	determining whether existing or proposed safeguards are satisfactory
Recommendations:	identifying what should be done to reduce the risk to a level acceptable to senior management
Implementation:	implementing acceptable recommendations
